RE: asters

I was told that they are susceptable to getting mildew and although the rain kills it, the dry weather in between gets it going and once it has a good hold it can't be stopped. I bought three plants last summer and although they looked well this year and were growing they have since died. All with the mildew which is very disheartening. The solutions I was given were milk or bicarb of soda (I think)on the leaves.I never actually used these solutions so I don't know how well they worked.
