| My knowledge of plants borders on pathetic!!! Should this one be heading for the bin?
Many thanks

| It's a Mullein (Verbascum), some species make attractive garden plants, but can take up a lot of room. |

| If you do decide to pull it I hope it is heading for the compost heap, not the bin! |

Kazzie, If you are going to move it which I think you will have to as it isn't any good where it is, put it in one of your borders. Maybe down the side where you wanted to screen with shrubs. Alison |

| I've planted it in Helen's garden. Looks like another one is popping up!!! The wood pigeons bathe in that shallow waterfall, I'm wondering if this is a result of their droppings. Think I'll dig the gunnera up from the bottom garden and pop in a small tree (need to consider roots though). The willows are coming along nicely after a dodgy start. Flipping garden... if I'd known it was going to be this time consuming............ |

Yes I know you would have paved the lot.... Hmmmm I think not !! Your garden is really beautiful so is worth the effort, and it's not like you are doing all the work. The birds are helping you. lol. Why are you moving the gunnera. Isn't it near the big lake? If another plant is coming up plant it right at the side of the one you put in Helens and she will have a lovely show next year. Then of course when you see it flowering you will be pinching it back when she's out. Alison |

| To be honest Alison, the big pond didn't quite turn out how I thought it would. I imaged the area to look more rugged natural, like my neighbour's. Instead, I think it looks 'dainty', sort of pretty, so I think I will dress it accordingly. Maybe a small weeper would look nice along with a sculture of some kind. The other small garden next to the pebbled (animal get-out continency plan) part of the pond, has the birdbath and various grasses. I'm still trying to come up with an idea for a back drop to that pond! Terry is trying to talk me into having a waterfall, but I'm not sure... I like the stillness of the water. |
