help with ID a plant that i saw while in stuttgart, germany

hi all !
last spring i was in Germany. And saw a plant that i though
very pretty. I'm not sure if it's a bush or a tree,anyway it look more like a bush.It was a pale pink,and the branches were
almost feathery like.sorry i don't have a pic at this time.the branches were also long .When not in bloom it has a fur tree look. Would appreciate any information.

Could it possibly have been a tamarisk? The wikipedia pics are rubbish, though.
