 o
moving Japanese acers in pots

Would welcome advice please. I am due to move house within the next two months and would like to take my Japanese acers with me. My problem is that some are over 10 years old and over 6ft high all in pots. Can anyone tell me the best way of moving them ie should I take them out of the pots and tie up the roots. Can I cut them down to a manageable size? Tips on transporting them would be much appreciated.
