Shall I leave the leaves?

Posted by mrpmorris 8 (My Page) on

I planted grass seed about 3 weeks ago and the grass is just starting to grow through.

My garden is under a huge tree which is covering it with leaves. Should I get these leaves up or leave them?

I see lots of grass under trees in the park so I suspect I don't need to, but I want nice grass so I thought I'd come and ask what the best thing to do is :-)

Thanks

Pete

RE: Shall I leave the leaves?

I'd clear the leaves off the area, especially if they are big leaves such as chestnut, cherry or tulip tree. A thick layer of these would soon kill off the young grass. A decent leaf blower will have it done in no time.
