Salvia guaranitica Black & Blue

On a recent visit to Wisley, a friend and I spent half an hour drooling over Salvia guaranitica Black & Blue. We spent so long admiring the plants that the Plant Centre was closed when we got out. I'd like to get her a plant for Christmas, but they seem difficult to get hold of.

Does anyone have a spare plant/seedling/couple of seeds they'd exchange for something I have? I have lots of seeds listed on my page, plus other bits and pieces - germinated Clivia seeds, almost-ripe seeds on a yellow Clivia, Lobelia tupa seeds or seedling, chunks of red or yellow flowered Epiphyllum, Achimenes Ambrose Verschaffelt, pale blush Oleander cuttings.

Hi Crazylady,

I happened to see your message right after I admired a Salvia Black and Blue on the main street of my small town and wished I had something with me to drop seeds into. If you haven't found seeds yet let me know, and I will try to get some for you. Wobur

Thank you so much for replying. It is an impressive plant, isn't it? I found some on Ebay at the weekend, so am now waiting for the plant to arrive. I expect it will just look like an empty pot at Christmas, and everyone will wonder what all the fuss is about.

Glad you found it! It is aptly named, with the intensity of the blue. They are still blooming here, so maybe it won't be too bad at Xmas if you have a greenhouse. Good luck. Wobur
