| Most of my containerised maples are in glazed pots but as they grow in size and I have to pot on the operation becomes more cumbersome due to the ever increasing weight of the pots I need to use.
I have found some reasonably large sized plastic pots that are visually appealing and am considering trying those for housing some of the larger specimens.
Aside from the weight issue are there any pluses or minuses I should take into account when deciding what to use ? |

| Issues about the pot to use? Make sure it has good holes in the bottom, Maples don't like to be waterlogged. Avoid concrete and similar products because they are alkaline, again Maples don't like that. |

| Hi shrubs n bulbs, I have narrowed my choice of containers down to a straight glazed or plastic. I will make sure there is adequate drainage. How do these two materials compare in terms of insulation ? |

| If you pot will have significant heat exposure, you should avoid plastic unless it's the insulated variety. Insulated plastic pots are "sandwiched," with a layer of air between the plastic layers. |
