What to do with finished Paperwhites

I planted some paperwhite narcissi rather early, they have finished blooming. At present I have kept them indoors in a bright spot and keeping them watered so that the bulbs will be nourished by the green growth. Although I'm not entirely sure about the scent and prefer hyacinths, I'd still like to keep them for next year if I can. Are they too tender to plant out in the garden? BBC site says they are not hardy in most of the country. I could give them a spot near a south-facing wall in case that helps. Otherwise shall I just find them a dark dry place indoors to store them for next year?

I'd put them in the greenhouse, if you've got one, or the coolest windowsill you've got. Or put them by a wall outside with maybe some bubblewrap over.

Thanks, I have an unheated greenhouse so I can do that.
