Ducks in pond - good or bad news?

Hello All,
I now have a pair of ducks in my wildlife pond (mud layer on liner) - is this good or bad news? Especially as I now have 3 clumps of frogspawn...
Many thanks for any advice.
Kate

Bad! From a purely selfish point of view- they will churn up and wreck everything. It depends on how big your pond is and whether you want the plants to look good.
On the other hand having babies would be very cute!...until you have 20 ducks in your garden every day as my m in l does even though she has no pond.

Yes they do look pretty and they grow up to taste even better.

Ducks is a BAD thing Kate, they are known to carry allsorts of bugs and parasites in thier crap, which they freely leave in your pond! dont encourage them.

Bad news on a small pond unfortunately, aside from the probs Alan mentions it appears they crap a lot and they can as DF said be hard on the plants

Well, they definitely did churn up the water in a big way - it's still muddy brown after 3 days! Have scooped out their horrible looking poo too. I had to go right up to them to get them to move, throwing a tennis ball into the pond didn't faze them either! I hope they don't come back. Thanks for the advice :-)
