ps I have 3 ponds now and still no frogspawn (beverley-East Yorks)! |

| Some wildlife birdseed found its way into our bog extension and we got loads of sunflowers and some dodgy stuff that is smokeable - very interesting though |

| I'm here!! I've never tried the birdseed idea, but it sounds like a good experiment. I did get an interesting crop of something growing under the bird feeder a couple of years ago, but as a non-smoker I never got that creative with it. From the weather maps, your neck of the woods has been very cold--so hopefully after this final cold snap the Yorkshire frogs will be ready to party! In contrast, we have had two lots of spawn, and the first lot is getting near to hatching--but the weather threatens freezing again, so I will be out there tonight with bubblewrap blankets to keep the poor little guys from freezing again. I have also found putting a big inflatable ring in the pond has kept it all from freezing over. It is good to see them but I wish they would wait until the weather is warmer. Anyway, nice to see some activity in the pond site, as well as the pond. |

I'm here too! My birds eat everything before it has a chance to grow! I think many left because of the popups, but actually I haven't noticed tham much recently. If the DO appear, I have pop up stopper installed, and I can also use the msn toolbar which also has a pop up stopper. |

I'm here as well! Not posted anywhere recently as nothing much happening but hopefully Spring is just around the corner bringing the garden (sea of mud at the moment..who wants heavy clay??!!)and ponds back to life. Happy ponding. Sue |

| Hey friends from across the Pond. Has anyone seen or heard from Sean McKinney? His US friends miss him posting in the US Pond forum. Happy ponding, Scott |

| I'm here, too. Still haven't seen sight nor sound of any frogs yet. I hope they're all safely tucked up in bed somewhere and have the sense to stay under the duvet till things warm up. Does bubblewrap really help to keep frogspawn warm? Daft question, but I've been wondering if garden fleece could be used in some way. Obviously it couldn't be used on its own because, presumably, it would sink!! Maybe over the top of bubblewrap? |

| I haven't lost much spawn this year to frost despite the pond freezing over half a dozen times since spawning, so I think a double layer of bubblewrap helps by providing some insulation, pushing the spawn underwater so it is less likely to freeze, and also by being something that floats so it disturbes the water, so it is less likely to freeze. First thing in the morning though I am out there thawing out around the spawn with warm water. Supposed to be freezeing down here again tonight, but hopefully that will be the last for awhile. When it does warm up in more northern regions, I am sure he frogs will make up for lost time! |

Scott (pondmaninfl) You can probably get Sean on my forum at www.the-horsfalls.co.uk/forum He posts quite often on there. I think at the moment though most people are hybernating still with this cold weather. Alison |

| Haven't been bothered much with pop-ups since I started using Firefox. Having said that, a new survey one has been running across my screen lately, so I had a look, thinking I'd fill it in if it was about the site. First question was my age, so I thought...On yer bike... |
