| I have added a few pics of my pond, mainly from start of construction, still a lot of work to do, but you get the basic idea of how it will look when completed. |
Here is a link that might be useful: my pond pics

| Wow! My little wildlife pond is just so uncomplicated and sooooo shallow in comparison. That's some work you've had done - the fish look fantastic though! |

| Thanks, its taken me 3 years so far, but it will be worth it in the end. Linda, the filter is my own design and made how i wanted it, over and under chambers, first bit is settlement, then vortex, then long brush chamber, then fine particles chamber filled with litag so the water flows up through it to the pump chamber, then clean water is pumped to a 350 gall bio/veg chamber filled with enough media to do about 20.000 galls, each chamber has a bottom drain away waste, its flushed to a sump with a 2000 gph pump where its pumped to the garden to water plants, there a UV conneted to one of the three central heating pumps, magnets to the other(only two pumps connected so far tho) 3rd will run a cascade water feature with lights etc, the filter has about 800 gallons in it, main pond just over 3000 gals, the whole thing works pretty well. |

I love purpose built, you can get it exactly how you want it then. Ours is block built to our spec's too. Could you post a couple more detailed pic's of the filters? I must be sad woman, after a very interesting talk from a woman who is an expert in sewage processing, I've been browzing books about sewage solutions to gain more info about processing poo. It's quite interesting really and the processes for fish poo is not that dissimilar to people poo, except we don't add the chemicals at the end! |

I don't know why Alan but I have always imagined you with a really large wildlife pond with grassy banks so where I got that idea from I don't know. Your fish look really lovely and you have done a great job on the pond. Alison |

Wow Alan! A really lovely pond. It must be very satisfying to see the results of all your hard work after the disaster a few years ago. Well done mate. Sue |

My goodness! What a project! It will be sooo satisfying when it's finished. I have to say I was going to say the same as Alison. I had envisaged a flat grass garden with a boggy pond in it! |

| Linda, added pics of filter, brief run down, first bay has bottom drain, mid level drain and surface skimmer run into it, brushes are a prefilter before vortex to hold larger bits and force them to the bottom flush, third is brushes, then under flow through the litag before a final settlement chamber, then to pumps, pumped to bio chamber and back to pond. Each chamber has a bottom drain to flush away to waste. Alison, one pic of my small wildlife pond 8'x10'x2' has a couple of water lillies and grasses, but is mainly filled with tenders that i keep in GH until mid April, full of noisey frogs and spawn at mo tho lol. |
