A sign of life in the new pond

At last, things are starting to bloom... no sign of the water lilies though.

I know this is a really common pond plant, but I can't remember the name (please advise). Its planted on one of the shallow ledges:

As I was taking garden shots, a yacht passed by... low tide (looks odd eh?)!

Thats odd I would have thought being South of me your plants would be ahead of mine I suppose being east has a 'latening' effect. Marsh marigold, Iris and yacht mast I see.

My marsh marigold hasn't flowered yet. It is just getting it's buds now. The first of the iris leaves are just breaking the surface.

Jenyjayne... I'm just down the coast from you... more towards Southend. Do you ever venture this way?
