I have decided to change my formal pond into a semi formal pond, by taking up a path between the pond and the rock garden, and replacing it with turf instead, i want the turf to run right into the pond, can you see any problems this may cause. derek.

How wide will the strip be?
I can see potential problems mowing the grass- either pysical problems in not wanting to tip the mower in the water, or danger to baby frogs etc.
How about a few stepping stones instead, and instead of grass having a carpet of low growing plants spilling down from the rockery?

Be careful if buying turf as it will have fertilizer on it and will be loaded with nitrates giving you huge future problems with blanket weed.
