Tadpoles on the beach

Anyone looking in the gallery will see last years photo of my pebble beach swarming with tadpoles.

No such picture this year as the frogs laid so much spawn on it it is still full of jelly. The pond however was teeming with "Millions" of taddies. So many in fact that I was scooping them out with my small aquarium net and putting them into the buckets by the side of my house.

I have about 20 plastic buckets all with samples of pondweed and oxygenators and now, all have a thriving community of tadpoles in them. I only hope the balance in the pond will not be upset and my Toadspawn and newt eggs get a chance to thrive.
