Tadpoles like spinach too!

I have some tadpoles in buckets and containers (so that a few less get eaten by the sticklebacks). I had heard that you can boost their diet with boiled lettuce. When I ran out, I tried lightly boiled spinach and they absolutely love it!! The only trouble is that I worry that they will be like little popeyes......super froglets! I have also tried broccoli stems and they like those too.

I can't even find any of my tadpoles now in the pond. Maybe I should have put some in buckets as well. I know they will be there somewhere as they usually appear later as froglets but I just wonder how many have been eaten not only by the fish, but a magpie has been dining everyday. I think he will have polished off a fare few.

I have noticed that birds like magpies treat the tubs as a fast food restaurant, so they aren't all protected!!

I still have one large white bucket of taddies and I watch them eating the green off the sides, so I haven't changed the water for a couple of weeks, yet they seem really happy. I've only seen one in my pond, which is a big disappointment, but I'm hoping that there's more hiding away from all the hungry mouths that are lurking in wait.
