I've discovered a small tear in my pond liner (it's not rubber, the other stuff?!) does anyone have any advice regarding repair?

get some aqua seal or pond silicon sealent, slap a bit of sealent on a bit of liber each side of the hole, leave it 24 hours then refill.

There are some sorts of sealant that can be used even when wet or under water. I haven't tried them though.

AJC's message seems to have been edited wrong, so part of message is missing.

Is the tear near the edge?, and can you get to the underside or just the topside?

You can buy sealant on a roll of liner material by the inch in some shops or garden centres. I don't know whether this would be suitable.

I had a disaster before I even put the liner in my newly dug pond! I don't drive, so had cycled from the aquatic centre with the liner rolled up in a rucksack but when I got off my bike and bent down, the liner fell out onto its corner and put a hole through two folds! It could only happen to me!! Considering I was building a 9' x 8' pond, I was mortified because of the expense, but I was actually really lucky because the holes were very near the top of the pond and one bit missed altogether. I repaired it with a strip of tape that they sell in aquatic centres for this purpose. It's about 2" wide, from what I remember, and it's got a very tacky side after you peel the backing off. I'm sure it needs to be dry, but you could ask advice.

Good luck with the repair. I built my pond three years ago but I'm not going to tempt fate by saying any more!!

Further to my previous post, I've just remembered that I used bits of the liner to use as patches with the sticky, double-sided stuff I bought. I guess it's always advisable to keep any bits left over and wrap them in a black sack out of light somewhere.

I used a one sided adhesive piece of rubber to seal a small hole in one preform pond that was given to me.

The same product is sold in a supply store near here to overlap two sections of rubber pond liner.

You would have to expose the hole and dry the spot, if you happen to find this rubber material.

I think I have a leak in my pond liner, and the water has all drained out of the pond and into the space under the pond liner. Now the liner is all bulged up & has squished the pond liner into a small trough in the middle. Before I can find the leak in the liner, I first need to drain the water out of the area under the liner. Any ideas on how to do that? Sure hoping someone can help me with this one.
