Wow lovely setting looks very natural.

What are those tall plants that are flowering in the foreground?

Thanks for the comments, it is great to be able to watch the pond from the sitting room window. Better than TV more often than not these days!

The flowers are land iris's (as opposed to ones that live in water or bogs) exact species I cannot remember. It is fairly dry in that part of the garden, but I suspect it's roots have found their way in part down to the top edge of the boggy bit so they seem to be coping well. By the way, does anyone know what to do when Iris's are spent--is it best to get rid of the seed pods, or let them ripen?

I let my seedpods ripen but that is because I don't mind having more Iris as they are one of my favourite plants. If they get very untidy though I would cut back. I find that the flowers never last long enough, but that is the same with most plants I suppose. We always want them to go on forever. Your pond looks very pretty and that is a wonderful photo.
