bioforce 18000 shrinking foam

Hi Guys and girls,

I have a Bioforce 18000 filter, with a additional 25watt uv. My pond is 2800g and my pump filters at 2000g an hour.

The problem that I am having is that the water is not getting clear what ever I do.

I changed the pipe from my pump to the filters from 1 inch to 1 1/4 inch so the flow has increased, but i am finding I am having to clean my filters every other day, and also I am finding that the foam's in both filters are shrinking so that the water is going around the sides so it is not getting filtered.

I only bought new foams in April!

Has anyone had this problem and could they give me advice

Thank you

RE: bioforce 18000 shrinking foam

Hi Jim,
I too have the Bioforce 18000 and I find that it will do a good job of keeping the water clear, but I find it needs cleaning every day! The only way I could solve the problem was to build a massive filtration system and keep the Bioforce running on my skimmer only. In reality, its just not upto the job! build yourself a big one, you won't be sorry!
Geoff
