My fish are all still happily swimming along the top of the pond and will do so for a while yet. They will go down to the bottom when they feel it is time and the cold spell gets them. Up until this recent cold spell they have still been feeding daily. Generally from about Nov to March/April time I don't feed the fish due to the cold weather. How deep is your pond and how big are the goldfish? Goldfish are quite easy to overwinter as they don't need the pond as deep as Koi. My pond is about 2ft deep and that has successfully overwintered Shubunkins, Ghost Koi, Golden Orfe, Comets Goldfish and Sticklebacks. Alison |
