mutant water lily

| My water lily "chromatella" has sprouted roots from under the flower and there is a leaf stalk growing inside the flower. Is this in any way normal? |

it may be a viviparous shoot, check out http://www.victoria-adventure.org/waterlilies_images/vivips/page1.html and any links from that to Sean Stevens who can be found either on AWGS
